MusicTechHelpGuy demonstrates the trim function built into Logic Pro's Pointer Tool, using it to shorten regions and clean up edits without switching tools.
Before trimming to bar lines or beats, set Snap mode to Absolute value so edits lock to the grid. Turn off bar snap when you need finer control, like tightening up a guitar solo's tail.
When working with session player tracks, remember to move corresponding chord progressions in the chord track too, otherwise your arrangement and chords fall out of sync.
There's also a quick shortcut for fades: hold Shift and Control, then click and drag across a region's edge with the Pointer Tool. It works for both fade-ins and fade-outs, no separate fade tool required.
