Alexander Ewald demonstrates how to use a hardware sequencer, the Torso T1, to drive a Bitwig instrument, specifically the Phase-4 synth. Because the T1 outputs MIDI notes only, it gets added as a generic keyboard controller rather than a dedicated preset, which keeps the setup lean and avoids unwanted MIDI CC data.
Syncing the transport is handled through Bitwig's synchronization settings, where clock and start/stop are enabled so the T1 locks to Bitwig's playback. Once the track input is set to the T1, hitting Play runs both in time and sends notes directly to Phase-4. From there, the live sequence can be recorded into a note clip inside Bitwig.
