Bitwig's official channel walks through the new Sliced mode in Bitwig Studio 6.1's Sampler, covering how to set up slicing and shape basic playback behavior. The workflow is quick to get into: click the slice icon in the top left, and the sample is divided into eight equal parts by default, starting from note C1.
For drum loops, onset detection is the more useful option, letting you slice at natural transients rather than fixed intervals. A sensitivity control lets you dial in exactly how many slices you get.
One-Shot mode plays each slice through to its end regardless of when you release the note, which is useful for keeping drum hits natural and uncut. Repitch mode now includes character options that add vintage analog warmth or classic digital grit, giving you tonal texture on top of basic pitch-shifting playback.
