In this segment from Bitwig's official Grid walkthrough, the host adds a Chebyshev waveshaper to one of the synthesizer's oscillator sources, using it to target and shift harmonics over time rather than applying static distortion.
Because the waveshaper has no direct input port, the host demonstrates how to use Bitwig's internal modulator routing system. A filter envelope already in the patch gets reassigned via the routing button to map directly onto the waveshaper's parameter, creating timbral movement that evolves with each note.
The key idea here is that modulators in The Grid aren't locked to a single destination. Any control device with a routing button can be pointed at any parameter, which makes it practical to reuse existing envelopes or LFOs for multiple jobs without duplicating modules.
