This clip from Ableton's Learn Live series walks through the Quantize Settings dialog in Live, showing how to apply quantization to multiple MIDI notes at once rather than adjusting them individually. The three core controls are: Quantize To, which sets the rhythmic resolution notes snap to; Adjust Note, which targets the start, end, or both; and the Amount slider, which determines how strongly notes are pulled toward the grid.
The Amount slider is where the real decision-making happens. At 100%, every note snaps fully to the grid. At 35%, notes move only partway there, preserving more of the original timing feel while still tightening things up.
The side-by-side comparison of a 100% pass versus a 35% pass makes the tradeoff immediately audible. Full quantization locks the rhythm but can strip out the human feel; a lower amount keeps the groove intact while correcting the worst timing drift. Dialing in that balance is the practical skill this bit demonstrates.
