This walkthrough covers locators in Ableton Live's Arrangement View, the markers that let you jump around your song without hunting through the timeline. Set them by right-clicking in the Scrub area or positioning the Insert Marker and hitting Set, then navigate between them with the arrow cues or by clicking directly in the Scrub area.
Double-clicking a locator starts playback from that point, and selecting one mid-playback moves Live there in sync with your tempo and quantization settings, so transitions stay musical instead of jarring.
The Loop Brace works alongside locators to define a repeating region, toggled on and off with the Loop button. Turn on both Punch In and Punch Out next to it and Live will only record within that looped region, letting you drop in on a specific section over and over without touching anything outside it.
