Ableton's Bouncy Notes turns incoming MIDI velocity into a physics control, letting how hard a note is played shape how its ball behaves. This bit shows Velocity Sensitivity linked to Gravity and Mass, using a chord progression where each note already carries different velocities.
Turning up Velocity Sensitivity on Gravity makes higher-velocity notes fall faster, so accented notes in a chord hit their target sooner while softer ones drift down slowly. Linking it to Mass instead makes louder notes produce visibly bigger balls, giving weight to the notes you played harder.
Both parameters work independently or together, and pushing them into negative values flips the relationship for even more variation. The result is a way to translate the natural dynamics already in a MIDI clip into organic, physical movement rather than uniform, robotic playback.
