Thavius Beck walks through Bitwig's clip alias system, showing how multiple clips on a track can share the same MIDI pattern so that editing one automatically updates all the others. This is especially useful when working with loop-based arrangements where a repeated section, like a chorus, needs to stay consistent across the timeline.
Aliases are created by duplicating a clip and then assigning it the same pattern via the right-click menu. A paperclip icon marks which clips are linked, and changing the color of one alias updates all of them together, making it easy to spot which clips are sharing content at a glance.
When you need a clip to diverge from the group, the Make Unique command breaks the link and turns it into a standalone clip that can be edited independently without affecting the others.
