Two quick shortcuts extend Ableton Live's basic space bar playback control. Shift + space bar resumes playback from wherever the arrangement cursor currently sits, while Option + space bar (Alt + space bar on Windows) plays back only the selected region, handy for auditioning a section without running the whole arrangement.
The bit also breaks down the Arrangement Position display, which shows your song position in bars, beats, and sixteenths. You can click and drag on it to scrub through the timeline, or double-click to type in an exact value, giving you precise control when you need to jump to a specific spot rather than eyeballing the waveform.
Together these small moves speed up navigation and editing in the Arrangement view, useful once you're deep into arranging and constantly checking specific sections or looping short passages.
