Nathan James Larsen fixes an annoying Logic Pro playback issue with pads and strings. When a MIDI note sustains across several bars, hitting play mid-region means that note stays silent until playback reaches its actual start.
The fix is a single setting: File, Project Settings, MIDI, then enable Chase for Notes. Logic will now detect any notes that should be sounding at your playback position and trigger them immediately.
Expect a few odd artifacts here and there, but for sustained pad and string parts it solves the problem cleanly, letting you jump into playback anywhere without losing those long notes.
