Right-click (or Control-click) any take inside the folder and choose delete to remove bad or unwanted takes on the spot.
He also points out why an extra take can show up unexpectedly: cycle recording loops back around and keeps capturing, adding one more pass than you might expect.
Once the folder is cleaned up, drag the small flag to audition takes one, two, three, or four and pick the strongest performance, no full comping required for this quick pass.
