Ocean walks through automating a low-pass filter sweep in Logic Pro, building energy into a breakdown as the drums build back up.
Drawing it in by hand is the simplest approach: select the plugin parameter (cutoff frequency), click points on the automation lane, then use the curve tool to control how fast the sweep moves.
Recording it live works too. Switch the track to write mode, hit play, and turn the filter knob in real time, then switch back to read so playback follows what you drew. Ocean prefers drawing it manually since it gives tighter control over the shape of the sweep.
