Ableton Live 12's chance tools let you set every selected MIDI note to the same probability, then randomize within a percentage range instead of leaving them identical. Select all notes, set them to a common value like 50%, and each one gets an equal shot at playing or staying silent when you hit play.
From there, dial in a randomization range and let Live shuffle the probability values across your selection. Notes land with varying likelihoods, some near-certain to trigger, others more likely to drop out, so hitting the randomize button repeatedly gives you a fresh spread each time.
This is a fast way to break up mechanical, repetitive MIDI patterns, especially arpeggios or percussion, without manually tweaking each note's chance value by hand.
