MusicTechHelpGuy walks through Logic Pro's Pointer Tool, covering the core moves for arranging regions in your session.
Moving and duplicating regions is tied to Snap mode. Bar mode with relative or absolute snapping keeps everything locked to the grid, or you can turn it off for free positioning.
Option-drag duplicates a region anywhere, Command-R repeats it right after the original, and Command-D duplicates a whole track. Holding Shift while moving or duplicating snaps a region back to its original grid alignment, even with snap turned off, which saves you from misaligned regions when trimming or stacking parts across tracks.
Copy, cut, and paste work with Command-C, Command-X, and Command-V, and the pasted region always lands on whichever track is currently selected, not necessarily the one you copied from. These same moves apply to multiple selected regions at once, including duplicating a chord progression so other instrument tracks can follow it.
